GEO · Generative engine optimisation

Be the answer when buyers ask AI.

Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and RedNote’s AI assistant which developer, builder or project to look at. GEO makes sure your company and your projects are found, described accurately and named in those answers.

Our own results

Ask AI who should film your development.

We asked Google and ChatGPT the question a developer would ask: “Please recommend five real estate media companies in Brisbane. I’m a property developer looking to produce a brand film.” Google’s AI Overview listed UNREAL first in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, citing our own city pages as sources. ChatGPT ranked UNREAL first in Brisbane twice, in two separate chats, as the “Best overall fit” and the “Best all-round fit”.

The shift

Search is becoming a conversation.

A buyer used to type a few words and compare ten links. Now they ask a full question, such as “who are the best boutique developers on the Gold Coast?”, and get one answer with a short list of names. If you are not in that answer, you may not make the shortlist.

AI repeats what it can verify.

AI engines build answers from pages they can read and trust: consistent company facts, clear project pages, reviews and mentions on other sites. Where that information is missing or contradictory, they name a competitor or repeat out-of-date details.

Property is a high-trust question.

Buying off the plan or choosing a builder is a big decision, so buyers check. They ask AI who built what, whether the company is reliable and what other people say. GEO makes sure the answer they get about you is complete and correct.

What is included

Six parts of one GEO program.

Each part gives AI engines better evidence about your company and projects. The monthly report shows what changed.

01 · Foundations

One consistent company.

The same company name, description and addresses everywhere, schema structured data on every page, clear page titles and an llms.txt file for AI crawlers.

02 · Citable pages

Pages AI can quote.

Project, service and FAQ pages rewritten with clear facts, dates and sources, so an AI engine can quote them accurately instead of guessing.

03 · Local trust

Google Business Profile and reviews.

Duplicate or conflicting listings merged, every profile completed, and a steady review program started with your past buyers and partners.

04 · Independent sources

Mentions on other sites.

Awards, PR, partner co-content and directory listings that give AI engines independent sources to cite, not just your own website.

05 · Chinese platforms

Douyin and RedNote search.

For projects selling to Chinese-speaking buyers, content built to be found in Douyin and RedNote search and in RedNote’s AI summaries. See KOKOMO.

06 · Reporting

A monthly AI visibility report.

The questions your buyers ask, how each AI engine answers them, who it names, where you appear, and what we will change next month.

For a client · KOKOMO, Gold Coast

Named by RedNote’s AI within five days.

We launched KOKOMO, a riverfront project in Carrara, with a lifestyle film and a Chinese-language feature on our own channel 澳洲豪宅王子. Five days later the feature appeared first in Douyin and RedNote searches for Australian and Gold Coast luxury homes. Asked about Gold Coast luxury homes, RedNote’s AI assistant named KOKOMO without being prompted; asked simply “kokomo”, it described the project from eight sources.

The screenshots are unedited; numbered boxes point to English notes translated by UNREAL Creative. Search results and AI answers are personalised and change over time; these were captured on 30 October 2026.

How it works

Measure first, then build the evidence.

Month 1

Audit and foundations

We ask the questions your buyers ask across each AI engine, record who is named and how you are described, then fix your company facts, structured data and listings.

Months 2–3

Pages and sources

We rewrite the pages AI engines should quote, add project and FAQ content, and start the review and third-party mention work. Film and social content from your projects becomes evidence AI can use.

Every month

Report and adjust

A monthly AI visibility report compares answers with the previous month and sets the next changes. GEO programs run for a minimum of three months.

What GEO cannot do

No one can buy or guarantee a place in an AI answer, and answers vary by person, question and time. GEO improves the information AI engines have about you and measures the result; it does not promise a ranking or a number of enquiries.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about GEO.

What is GEO (generative engine optimisation)?

GEO is the work of making sure AI engines such as ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and RedNote's AI assistant can find your company and projects, describe them accurately and name them when buyers ask relevant questions. It covers the facts AI engines read about you, the pages they can quote, and the independent sources that back you up.

How is GEO different from SEO?

SEO aims for a high position in a list of links. GEO aims for a mention inside a single generated answer. The foundations overlap, such as fast, well-structured pages, but GEO puts more weight on consistent company facts across the web, pages written so they can be quoted, reviews, and mentions on other sites that an AI engine can treat as independent evidence.

Which AI engines and platforms does UNREAL Creative cover?

We test and report on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. For projects selling to Chinese-speaking buyers we also cover Douyin and RedNote search and RedNote's AI assistant 点点 (Dots).

How long does GEO take to work?

Foundations are set up in the first month. AI engines then need time to re-read and re-weight the updated information, so changes in answers usually appear over weeks to months and vary by engine. GEO programs run for a minimum of three months, and each monthly report shows what has moved.

Does UNREAL Creative use GEO for its own business?

Yes. Asked for five real estate media companies for a property developer’s brand film, Google’s AI Overview listed UNREAL Creative first in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and ChatGPT ranked UNREAL Creative first in Brisbane in two separate chats. The screenshots on this page were taken in October 2026 in an incognito window while signed out. AI answers vary, so this is a record of what we saw, not a guaranteed position.

Can you guarantee that AI will recommend our company?

No. Nobody can buy or guarantee a place in an AI answer, and answers vary by person, question and time. GEO improves the information AI engines have about you and measures the result each month, so you can see whether you are being found, how you are described and who is named instead.

How much does GEO cost?

GEO is quoted in writing as a one-off setup plus a monthly program, based on the number of projects, locations and languages, the state of your existing website and listings, and whether Chinese platforms are included. PR, directory or media costs are included only when the written scope names them.
